The mission of the University of Forestry, as a state university, is in following a national policy for the development of forestry education and sciences in Bulgaria, through a combined set of disciplines related to management, and technological support in the use of natural resources, products and services.
On 27th July 1995, the Higher Institute of Forestry was given the status of a university and approved of the name -
the University of Forestry. The new training and laboratory building was officially opened in the same year.
